Tips for Hunters

What’s the best scent to use early in the season?

There are many options, but Trail’s End® #307®, Moon Fire®, Select Doe Urine™, Buck-Nip®, and Hot Musk® are some of the best options.

How soon before I hunt can I treat my hunting clothes with Scent Killer®?

The best way to treat your clothes is to thoroughly spray you clothes with Scent Killer®, then allow them to fully dry before storing. Once dry your Scent Killer® treated clothing can be stored for days, weeks, or even longer in an air tight scent free bag or container. When properly used, Scent Killer® helps turn your clothes into a scent elimination suit.

Is it OK to use an Ultimate Scrape-Dripper® and then use Trail’s End® #307® when I go out on stand?

This can work really well sometimes. The Active-Scrape® in the dripper will help condition the bucks to come around your stand area during daytime hunting hours. The Trail's End® #307® or other attractant scents put out when you are sitting on stand will then put something special and unique into the air to peak the curiosity of deer in the area. Many hunters have had success with this technique.

Is it too early to use Special Golden Estrus®?

Many people believe you should not use an estrus type scent too long before the rut. However, in field testing we have seen Special Golden Estrus® and other estrus type scents be effective at attracting whitetail bucks well before the start of archery season and well after. In fact, one of our pro staff members mentioned a pope and young buck he got way before the rut using Special Golden Estrus®.

When can I start using the Ultimate Scrape-Dripper®?

You can really start using them anytime early season or shortly before the season. Using the Ultimate Scrape-Dripper® is a great way to establish scrapes and check spots that deer visit. Also the Ultimate Scrape-Dripper® helps condition bucks to visit these spots during daytime hours when you would be hunting, increasing your chance at getting that big buck.
